Remembering me?

                A question in our activity was: "How do you want people to remember you most?" Well, my answer goes like this: "I want them to remember me by the good deed or act I've done and the change (for the better) I've made them to do so. And I want them to remember me because I inspired them."

                Legacy is a mark you leave to people who believe in you. They were the ones who were inspired by your acts, or your words. A legacy is not a mark left only by dead people. In my 13 years of existence, I know I have no legacy yet. This is because: first, I know I'm a passive person and second, I just know I still don't have one. People may remember me in a way or two, yes, but I know everyone wants the ‘mark’ that even though a lot of years pass by will still always be there. I also want people to remember me as the “real” me, not the one whom they expect me to be. For instance, if I was controlled by my parents too tightly, I would be that ‘goody two shoes’ girl or the very prim and proper, that’s how people will remember me. But, that will never be me. I’m not saying that I’m no good, but of course I break rules, and go against instructions.

                I never dreamt of having a ‘legacy’. As I've said, I’m a very passive person. But then came the time when our lesson was about it. I knew what legacy is, of course, who wouldn't? Though in no way I thought that I would want one. When I first saw the question ("How do you want people to remember you most?") all I've thought of is that I wanted to be remembered because I am simply me and not because I've done something that was done formerly by somebody else.

                Well, not everyone get to have the chance to attain that ‘climax’ of their life. Not everyone get to have their legacy. So if I were you, it’s best to do the most of what we can do in our lives and enjoy. We’ll never know, in maybe a time span of 20 years, we’re the next Cory Aquino or Dr. Jose Rizal. Or one day, you'll say this:
